  • YOUR FIRST CONSULT

    Dr Thiruchelvam will review your medical history and symptoms, perform a physical examination and may order certain diagnostic tests. After this review the doctor will recommend the best treatment for you. There will be plenty of time for your questions with Dr Thiruchelvam, and our admin staff will also go through the details of costs and logistics with you.

  • PRE-OP WITH OUR DIETITIAN

    Our dietitian will help guide you through your pre- and post-op surgery diet as you prepare fort eh start of your weight loss journey. They will provide you with all the necessary resources and diet guides for surgery.

  • SURGERY DAY

    The hospital will contact you the day before surgery about what time to arrive, your fasting instructions and what medication to take with you. Dr Thiruchelvam and your anaesthetist will also check in with you before you go into surgery. depending on your surgery you should be discharged within 1 day.

  • RECOVERY AT HOME

    At the two day and one-week marks post-surgery, our dedicated team will check in with you to monitor your progress and support your recovery. During these check-ins, we will focus on hydration, wound healing, pain management and your overall general well-being. These regular check ins are part of out commitment to your care, helping to ensure a smooth and comfortable recovery.

  • 2 & 6 WEEKS POST SURGERY

    At the two-week mark following your surgery, you will have a scheduled appointment with our dietitian and Dr Thiruchelvam. This consultation aims to assess your progress and provide personalized dietary and medical advice. At six weeks, we will reassess our nutritional needs and make any necessary adjustments to your diet to support continued healing and recovery.

  • 3 & 6 MONTHS POST SURGERY

    These reviews will focus on your long-term dietary habits and ensuring that you are maintaining a healthy, balanced diet that supports your overall well-being. We will also evaluate your progress, address any challenges you might be facing, and refine your dietary plan to ensure sustained health benefits.

  • 12 MONTHS POST SURGERY

    This final scheduled review with Dr Thiruchelvam and the dietitian will look at your overall nutritional status one year post surgery with a focus on long term health maintenance and any further recommendations.

  • 3 YEARS POST SURGERY

    At this mark, we recommend that patients who underwent a gastric sleeve surgery or single anastomosis bypass have a gastroscopy with Dr Thiruchelvam. This helps detect silent reflux, which can occur without symptoms but may cause oesophageal damage in untreated. If you have the appropriate level of private health coverage, this will come at no additional cost to yourself.

    If you require additional support from our dietitian outside of these scheduled check ins, we are here to help.
